Destination Known | Park City

I grew up visiting Park City every year for a father/daughter ski trip which then turned into girlfriend trips (including a historical/ hysterical one during Sundance Film Festival), boyfriend trips, couples trips, bachelorette parties, bye bye baby trips — you name it. The 40 min drive from the airport seems shorter, the skiing better, the people seem nicer, and the food more delicious every time I return. I REALLY love this town. There are a plethora of ski options around Park City but for my purposes of pleasure, good food, and minimal driving, I only ever ski Deer Valley and Park City (which is now connected to the Canyons making it the nation’s largest ski area).

Ski. Stay. Eat. Après. | Deer Valley

St. Regis Deer Valley (splurge): Stunning slopeside digs and patio

Stein Erikson Lodge Deer Valley (splurge): THE long-time, lively epitome of DV luxury

Ski. Stay. | Park City Mountain Resort

Marriott Mountainside Park City Mountain Resort (moderate splurge)

Chateau Après (super save): super clean, 1960’s ski lodge with free breakfast and a <5 min walk to the base of Park City Mountain Resort make this one of my favorite childhood memories with my dad

Stay. Eat. | Main Street

This historic cabin at the top of Main is my pick for a girl’s weekend with your (1) best friend or romantic getaway as it’s walkable to all Main St restaurants/ shopping and the Main St Transit Center (for bus service to all skiing)

Tupelo for swanky warm new American (request upstairs by the window - go for a drink @ their upstairs bar before)

Handle for warm and lively new American (request booth in middle of restaurant - REFUSE back right corner)

Chimayo for upscale Southwestern and of course, margs (request upstairs - street level - booth)

River Horse on Main for classic and reliable upscale American

Yuki Yama for sushi

Purple Sage for upscale American

Main Street Pizza & Noodle for casual Italian

Drink

No Name Saloon for PC’s best known watering hole

High West Distillery for gourmet bar food and drink

Park City Live for concerts

OP Rockwell for intimate cocktails and perhaps live music

To Do (besides ski)

Yoga at the Shop is a quick walk down the hill from Park City Mountain Resort (take the stairs behind Chateau Apres) and is just so darn enjoyable, I try to go every time

Shop Park City Main Street. My favorites include perusing Dolly’s Bookstore while enjoying a mint dipped oreo from the adjoining Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and strolling through galleries.

Utah Olympic Park to tour the site of the 2002 Olympics, see training runs and/or competitions, ride the bobsled or zip line, or take an intro Olympic sport class — skeleton, ski jumping, etc.

Snowmobile Tours for when you’re a skiing latecomer or pregnancy prevents you from doing otherwise

Dog Sledding Tours

Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides

Tubing
